What people use an extracted list for

  • Site migrations. The old sitemap is the most complete list of URLs that need a redirect. Extract it before the old site goes away.
  • Content audits. Sort by lastmod in a spreadsheet to find pages nobody has touched in years.
  • Competitor research. A public sitemap shows how a competitor structures its site and how fast a section grows.
  • Crawl comparisons. Put the sitemap list next to a crawl export. URLs only in the sitemap may be orphans; URLs only in the crawl may be missing from the sitemap.

Questions people ask

How do I extract all URLs from a sitemap?
Enter the sitemap URL, paste its XML or upload the file, then press Extract. If it is a sitemap index, one more click fetches every child sitemap (up to 40) and merges their URLs. Download the result as CSV or plain text.
What is in the CSV?
One row per URL with the columns url, lastmod, changefreq, priority, images (number of image entries) and source (which sitemap file it came from). It opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers.
Is there a size limit?
Fetching by URL is limited to 4 MB per file. Uploads are parsed in your browser with no limit, including .xml.gz files.
Can I turn a sitemap into a list for Screaming Frog or a redirect map?
Yes. Use the TXT download, which is one URL per line. Screaming Frog's list mode, most redirect-mapping sheets and our robots.txt checker accept that format.
